1986 C&C 39 Landfall Centre Cockpit Sloop Sailboat with single inboard diesel power...
RUNNING BARE II is a wonderfully up-dated example of the classic C&C Landfall series. Her huge centre cockpit provides comfortable seating for lots of people, and since tasteful new cockpit cushions were installed in 2008, the emphasis is definitely on comfortable. Not just your seat, but your back, too.
The high center cockpit allows excellent visibility in all directions, instead of that feeling of being a long way from the action when you try to dock a rear cockpit sailboat. The high center cockpit also allows for a huge aft stateroom with transverse double bed and over 6 feet of headroom. This feeling of room and comfort is carried through above and below decks – let the whole family lounge on the deck pads fore and aft, or enjoy the high, well-lit area below decks provided by lots of portholes, and opening hatches all with mosquito screens to keep the bugs out! Speaking of comfort, enjoy the custom Sunbrella cockpit enclosure (new in 2005, still in top-notch condition). No more sweltering sun, blustery winds or driving rain, unless you really want them! Complete comfort in all weather, but incredibly flexible, so you can finally control your own weather!
The unique Landfall design also allows for two completely private staterooms, each with double bed, private head and shower. There is also a huge salon with 2 settees, each folding out to give a double bed. The galley has a 3-burner propane stove with oven, large refrigerator-freezer, microwave, and lots of storage space.
Over the last eight years, RUNNING BARE II has received over $60,000 in up-grades, including: - All-new plumbing and electrical systems. - Two new vacuum-flush heads (no more hand pumping!). - New stainless steel waste tanks, with Tank Watch systems to prevent overfilling. - New air-conditioning, with reverse cycle heating for your comfort. - A new Garmin 3010C GPS (9 inch wide screen) with depth sounder, satellite weather and ST60 wind instrument. - A new hot water heater, using either 120 V or engine heating, so that hot shower is always ready for you. - A Vetus bow thruster to make docking easier, even in strong winds. - The list of up-grades goes on and on, all designed to improve safety and comfort.
RUNNING BARE II has spent most of her life in fresh water, and she is in excellent condition. She stands ready to take you and your family on short trips or long ones. She is comfortable and safe with an amazing amount of storage room.
