2004 Custom 54 Steel Cutter Sailboat
with
single inboard diesel power... Blue Eden
is a magnificent, Canadian-built 54-foot custom
steel pilothouse yacht. She was professionally
manufactured by a reputable and very capable
yard. Her plans were based on Lord Riverdale’s
famous “Bluebird of Thorne”, a 50-foot twin keel
world cruiser. She is a well equipped, easily
handled, comfortable and good looking luxury
sailboat. This 28-ton ‘small superyacht’ is well
suited to safe blue water cruising, live aboard, or
simply entertaining throughout the Great Lakes.
She only spent 3 months of her life in saltwater
and the rest have been in freshwater. Her 80hp
Ford Lehamn diesel only has 600 hours on it.
This yacht is of rare quality throughout. The
interior is bright and modernistic and her fit and
finish is flawless. All systems are designed and
constructed to high standards. She has been
lightly used and fastidiously maintained by her
owners and presents nearly as new. She has a
large salon and dining area, master stateroom and
generous guest accommodation. All is low
maintenance. She has virtually all of the
electronics that you could want including Inmarsat,
an SSB, an EPIRB, a Raytheon E80
radar/chartplotter, a $10k electronic compass
system, an Autopilot (this can work on either wind
direction or compass setting), a 6kw Genset, a
solar panel, 1400amp/hours of 6v batteries, air
conditioning and much, much more.
Her pilothouse is extremely comfortable and
the 360-degree visibility is astounding. She is no
laggard and will do well at passage-making. Her
owner notes that “In force five (17-21 knots) with
full headsails and a single-reefed main, she can
sail 7.0 to 8.5 knots on a beam reach depending
on sea state. In force six (22-27 knots) the jib
gets furled and the main gets a second reef. She is
very stable and comfortable and rides the ocean
swells wonderfully. She seems to love being on a
10-degree heel”.
The attention to detail throughout, from the
research of the hull design, the practical and
innovative systems, combined with unequaled
quality of fit-out ensure that Blue Eden will always
be a much admired vessel. General
